{"product_id":"trieste-olive-oil-tasting-and-grove-walk","title":"Trieste: Olive Oil Tasting \u0026 Grove Walk","description":"Tucked between limestone hills and the shimmering Gulf of Trieste, a small valley known as Val Rosandra hides a family farm where olives and grapevines have grown side by side for decades. This experience invites you to step away from the city and into a world shaped by generations of careful cultivation, where the air smells of sun-warmed earth and fresh herbs, and the rhythm of rural life still dictates the day.Your visit begins with a warm welcome and a short introduction to the family's story — from its humble beginnings as a rustic farmhouse tavern, a local tradition once used for selling homemade wine and farm products.You'll then set off on a relaxed walk through the olive grove right outside the farmhouse, where your host will explain how the trees are tended through the seasons and what makes this particular stretch of land, caught between the Carso plateau and the Julian Alps, so special for growing olives.After the walk, you'll head to the small on-site press house, where the olives are transformed into oil. Here, the process is explained step by step — from harvest to milling to bottling — giving you real insight into how extra virgin olive oil actually reaches the table. The highlight comes next: a guided tasting of four different extra virgin olive oils, each with its own character, aroma and flavour profile, served alongside fresh bread and crunchy breadsticks to cleanse the palate between pours. A glass of sparkling wine rounds off the tasting, adding a festive touch to the experience.The grove itself offers lovely views over the valley, and the quiet countryside setting makes it easy to forget you're just a short drive from downtown Trieste. Whether you're a curious foodie, a nature lover looking to expand your palate, or simply someone who enjoys slow, authentic travel experiences, this stop offers a genuine taste of local life.","brand":"Slow Travel Italia","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55496245281109,"sku":null,"price":34.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0913\/2159\/8293\/files\/4xgHqTXlO-HLSMJ7ccSr2ap1ejRjh5BMm7fTrzPGGaE.png?v=1792808115","url":"https:\/\/www.touraround.it\/products\/trieste-olive-oil-tasting-and-grove-walk","provider":"Touraround","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
