In the quiet countryside just outside Lazise, on the eastern shore of Lake Garda in the Veneto region, a terrace opens onto rolling hills, vineyards and open fields — a setting far removed from the busier lakefront towns nearby.Over roughly two hours, you're guided step by step through the ancient Roman technique of direct mosaic-making. Working with tesserae of glass, ceramic and other materials, you choose your own colours, shapes and combinations, building a personal composition entirely by hand.
