Experience an authentic visit to a buffalo farm nestled in the historic surroundings of Paestum's archaeological park. This immersive tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at the traditional buffalo breeding and mozzarella cheese production process. To observe the cheese-making phase, select the 8:00 AM time slot, with the farm visit concluding at 9:30 AM and including also the visit to the buffalo farm. Afterward, explore the archaeological park at your leisure while waiting for the return at 12pm for the delicious included lunch. For the other times, the cheese-making visit will not be included, but only the buffalo farm visit and lunch will.Indeed, after the farm visit and after seeing the buffalos, the experience continues with a tasting of fresh mozzarella di bufala, allowing you to savor its rich and delicate flavor straight from the source. Then, you will enjoy a regional multi-course lunch, perfectly complemented by local wines, for a truly authentic culinary experience. The meal begins with a choice of appetizers such as a cheese platter with bocconcini, provola, ricottina, and Parma ham from Langhirano aged 24 months, along with buffalo salami, or a Caprese salad with buffalo mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, and fresh basil. For the main course, select from a variety of traditional dishes, including cavatelli cilentani with buffalo mozzarella, garden tomatoes, and basil, ricotta and scamorza-stuffed crepes, Sicilian-style baked bucatini with garden eggplants, Cilento-style meatball with tomato sauce on toasted bread, homemade sausage with potatoes roasted to perfection, or vegetable fingers featuring eggplant parmigiana with buffalo mozzarella and San Marzano tomatoes, potato gateau with smoked scamorza, and a Cilento stew with peppers, eggplants, and zucchinis. For dessert, options include a ricotta and chocolate crumble tart or a ricotta and pear cheesecake. The meal is accompanied by still water, house red wine and freshly baked bread, offering a complete taste of local culinary traditions in a unique archaeological setting.
