In the quiet countryside just outside Lazise, on the eastern shore of Lake Garda in the Veneto region, a terrace opens onto rolling hills, vineyards and open fields — a setting far removed from the busier lakefront towns nearby.Over roughly two hours, you're guided step by step through the ancient Roman technique of direct mosaic-making. Working with tesserae of glass, ceramic and other materials, you choose your own colours, shapes and combinations, building a personal composition entirely by hand. No previous experience is needed — the process is designed to welcome complete beginners as easily as anyone with a creative streak.As your mosaic sets, the session shifts into something more convivial: an aperitivo with local wine, water and a small selection of snacks, shared with the other guests while the countryside view settles into early evening light.
